Pianist MIORI SUGIYAMA is an active soloist and collaborative artist in the US and abroad. Her performances span across venues including Carnegie Hall, Merkin Concert Hall, Bargemusic, National Sawdust, and Lincoln Center. She also performs regularly with the Brooklyn Art Song Society, and is the artistic director and founder of Half Moon Music Series, a chamber music and art song series dedicated to exploring works by female composers. She has studied with Rita Sloan, Julian Martin, Paul Rutman, and Morey Ritt. Ms. Sugiyama holds degrees in piano performance from the Juilliard School and CUNY-Queens College, and received her Doctor of Musical Arts in collaborative piano from the University of Maryland-College Park. She also holds a Master of Education from Teachers College-Columbia University. She currently resides in Los Angeles with her husband and daughter.
