Steven Eddy
An accomplished concert artist and Baroque music specialist, baritone Steven Eddy has garnered praise as a soloist and professional choral singer with such ensembles as The New York Philharmonic, The Oratorio Society of New York, Philharmonia Baroque Orchestra, The Bach Choir of Bethlehem, Seraphic Fire, True Concord Voices and Orchestra, Spire Chamber Ensemble, The Thirteen, Variant Six, Clarion Music Society, American Classical Orchestra, Sacred Music in a Sacred Space, Choral Arts Philadelphia, and Bach Vespers at Holy Trinity.
Mr. Eddy was the 1st Prize winner of the 2019 Oratorio Society of New York’s Lyndon Woodside Competition, which led to his debut with The Oratorio Society of New York in the world premiere of Paul Moravec and Mark Campbell’s A Nation of Others. He is also the winner of the 2015 Joy in Singing Music Sessions, which led to his New York solo recital debut at Merkin Hall. He was a Regional Finalist of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions.
Mr. Eddy appears on several notable and well-received recordings, including the live concert recording of Paul Moravec’s A Nation of Others on Lexicon Classics, Daron Hagen’s The Art of Song with Naxos, Benjamin Perry Wenzelberg’s Any of Those Decembers with Navona, The Garden: Songs and Vocal Chamber Music of Tom Cippulo with Albany Records, David Lang’s prisoner of the state with Decca, and Monteverdi’s Vespers of 1610 with The Thirteen on Acis Productions.
Upcoming projects include Duruflé’s Requiem with the Bucks County Choral Society, a program of Psalm settings by Claudio Monteverdi and Salamone Rossi, Handel’s Messiah with The Thirteen and Choral Arts Philadelphia, Ned Rorem’s Evidence of Things Not Seen with Brooklyn Art Song Society, and concert projects with Seraphic Fire.
